As a parent of three young bilingual children and researcher I have complied current academic research with over a hundred international families' experiences with bilingualism and multilingualism in my new book Language Strategies for Bilingual Families – The one-parent – one language Approach'. The links on the website will give you an overview of the points raised in the book and some background information.

I focus mainly on the popular one-parent-one-language strategy and look at some of the factors affecting its success within the family. I also look at other complementary strategies and how families can adapt strategies to suit their circumstances.

Bilingualism is a wonderful gift for our children and something we need to nurture and support within the whole family. I hope the book helps families to find the best strategy for both parents and the children. Good luck to all bilingual families!
